A series of explosions was reported in temporarily occupied Nova Kakhovka in Kherson Oblast on the evening of Monday 11 July, resulting in the destruction of an ammunition depot.

Details: Photos and videos of powerful explosions in Nova Kakhovka have been posted on multiple social media accounts.

Kremlin-aligned Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported that Ukrainian troops had hit targets in Nova Kakhovka. Data regarding casualties is being confirmed.

Later on, a source within the pro-Russian so-called "military-civilian administration" of Nova Kakhovka told RIA Novosti that the attack had not targeted the hydroelectric power plant.

TASS, citing the pro-Russian "military-civilian administration", is reporting that warehouses containing saltpetre exploded following the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Nova Kakhovka, and that there were casualties and damage to residential buildings, a market and a hospital.

Serhii Bratchuk, spokesman for the head of the Odesa Oblast Military Administration, confirmed that an ammunition depot in occupied Nova Kakhovka had been destroyed.

"Nova Kakhovka. Minus combat ammunition depot. Confirmed," he wrote.
