Quote: "We are very saddened by the news of the death of Mr Urey. We want to clarify that he was not in the International Legion.  He did not fight in Ukraine. He was an employee of a humanitarian organisation, as confirmed by the Presidium Network, the non-profit organisation where Mr Urey worked."

Details: The International Legion noted that since Urey was not a legionnaire, they could not provide additional information.

Earlier, the separatists of the so-called "DPR" reported that Paul Urey had died on 10 July due to "diagnosed illnesses and stress", assuring that the Briton was being provided with medical care.

In April, Dominik Byrne, co-founder and chief operating officer of the Presidium Network, reported that two British citizens, Paul Urey and Dylan Healy, had been abducted in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
