Details: "In these four cases, Mrs. President followed the recommendations of the three ministries: internal affairs, defence and foreign affairs," Strizhinets said.

Citizens of Slovakia do not have the right to serve in a foreign army. However, an exception may be given on an individual basis upon request. The necessary administrative steps can take several weeks or even months.

Another six applicants were denied permission, the Slovakian president's spokesperson said.

Slovakia is a key partner of the Ukrainian government. The Slovak military has provided Ukraine with an anti-aircraft missile complex and is preparing to hand over its Soviet MiG-29 fighter jets for use in the war against Russia.
