’Regimes’ are something we find in Russian prisons: the Office of the President Presidential Office responds to Lavrov's statements

Mykhailo Podoliak, adviser to the head of the President's Office, labelled as "schizophrenic" the statements by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov about the overthrow of the "Kyiv regime".

Quote from Podoliak: "In the morning, you declare that Moscow wants negotiations, and in the evening, you claim that your goal is to ‘get rid of the anti-people Kyiv regime: that is classic Russian schizophrenia’.

And this coming from someone representing a barbarian country that invaded foreign territory for no reason and is killing Ukrainians as brutally as possible.

‘Regimes’ are something we find in Russian prisons, while in Ukraine there is a legally elected government that won in fair, competitive, democratic elections. So many words unfamiliar to the Russian elite in one sentence, right?

When deciding to throw out an ‘anti-historical regime’ [as Lavrov referred to the Ukrainian government], it is important not to accidentally end up in the unconditional dustbin of history. Especially since the civilised world is extremely contemptuous of persons who have committed so many documented serious war crimes."

Background:

  • Lavrov claimed that Moscow is ready for negotiations with Kyiv "on a wider range of issues."
  •  Immediately after that, he stated that the occupying country would help the people of Ukraine to get rid of an "anti-people and anti-historical regime".
