"24,000 Friends of Ukraine" fundraiser launches ahead of Independence Day

Ukrainian fundraising platform United24, founded by the Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, has launched a 24,000 Friends of Ukraine fundraiser ahead of Ukraine’s Independence Day on 24 August.

Details: The project calls for donors worldwide to subscribe for a symbolic $24 monthly donation, which can be done in one click on the platform's website: donorbox.org/24-000-friends-of-ukraine.

Everyone who signs up for a monthly donation will receive a thank-you email with the signature of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"The idea of ​​the project is for people worldwide to support the Ukrainian people in their fight against the aggressor on a regular basis. The initial goal of the project is 24,000 subscribers," the press release reads.

Charitable subscriptions will contribute to the Medical Aid stream of the United24 fundraising efforts. Regular donations will allow the Ukrainian Ministry of Health to plan purchases to support the work of Ukrainian doctors and save more lives.

Background:

  • On 3 May, UNITED24 was launched by the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as the main venue for collecting charitable donations in support of Ukraine.
  • On 24 July, the American band Imagine Dragons became ambassadors for United24. The musicians will promote the Medical Aid direction of United24.
  • On 4 August, United24 reported that the funds raised were used to purchase an MI-2AM-1 helicopter.
