10,000 civilian facilities destroyed by Russian military in Mykolaiv Oblast

As of 27 August, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian occupiers have destroyed 10,000 civilian facilities in Mykolaiv Oblast, including 331 educational institutions, 117 industrial and commercial buildings and 67 medical institutions.

Details: The following facilities have been damaged or destroyed:

  • 6,466 residential buildings,
  • 67 medical institutions,
  • 331 educational institutions,
  • 149 cultural institutions,
  • 117 industrial and commercial buildings,
  • utilities: 837 gas, 591 electricity, 28 water  and 94 heating utility supply facilities
  • 1,320 other non-military facilities.

Representatives of the Oblast Military Administration added that work was currently underway to restore gas and electricity supply to the settlements of the oblast that had suffered as a result of the war.

As of 27 August, 6,355 users remain without gas supply.

Electricity supply, water supply and drainage have been cut off in 93 settlements (in 4 of those partially) in the Bashtanka and Mykolaiv districts of Mykolaiv Oblast.

Voluntary evacuation continues in the oblast. As of 27 August, 469 internally displaced persons remain in temporary accommodation facilities in Mykolaiv.

A total of 25,697 people were evacuated from Mykolaiv Oblast. Of the evacuees, 8,065 people were taken to Palanka, 8,750 to Odesa, and 3,237 to other settlements.

1,240 people from Voznesensk district, 4,053 people from Bashtanka district, and 352 people from Mykolaiv district have been evacuated.
