Russia increases number of PMC mercenaries for war in Ukraine – Intelligence

The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation has decided to increase the number of private military companies (PMCs) participating in the war in Ukraine, since covert mobilisation in Russia has not yielded significant results.

Quote: "The implementation of covert mobilisation in the central and southeastern regions of the Russian Federation is failing.  Russians increasingly refuse to go and die for the ideas of the Kremlin dictator. Considering this, the Ministry of Defence of the aggressor country decided to increase the number of PMC mercenaries participating in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine."

Details: According to intelligence data, the Wagner/Liga PMCs primarily operate on the territory of Ukraine.

Currently, there are about 4,500-5,000 militants in the temporarily occupied territories. They operate on certain fronts as assault units, which are part of the first line of offence.

Background: On 27 August, Vadym Skibitskyi, the representative of the Chief Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, reported that Russia has already involved about 160,000 military personnel in the war against Ukraine and plans to involve another 90,000.
