Details: According to information provided by Ukraine’s Intelligence Directorate,  Russian troops are looting rampantly as they look to escape. They load their vehicles up with generators, smartphones and computers that have been stolen from Ukrainians. Frequent cases of school robberies are being reported. Even horizontal bars and sports equipment are being stolen from gyms.

Quote: "In one of the villages, Ruscists have stolen a bus and left it 6 kilometres away. The bodies of 36 occupiers have been found there.

The personnel of units of the so-called ‘Donetsk People’s Republic’ (DPR) which had been stationed in Izium until recently, had to withdraw 60 kilometres from the city due to the lack of replenishment of ammunition and fuel.

Their relatives [those of Russian occupiers] are shocked at the news of Ukraine’s counterattack, as Russian media has been spreading the opposite information, about a successful Ruscist attack."

Background:

  • Russian units in Kharkiv Oblast were seeking ways to contact Ukrainian units in order to negotiate their laying down of arms.
  • Analysts of the Institute for the Study of War state that defenders of Ukraine have recaptured almost the entire territory of Kharkiv Oblast in a rapid counteroffensive.
