Russia's casualties in war exceed 54,000 soldiers, Russian army loses another air defence system in one day

In the war against Ukraine, Russia has already lost more than 54,000 military personnel, according to Ukraine's calculations.

Details: The invaders suffered the greatest losses on the Bakhmut and Donetsk fronts.

Russia’s total combat casualties from 24 February to 16 September are as follows:

  • approximately 54,050 (+200) military personnel,
  • tanks ‒ 2199 (+6) units,
  • armoured combat vehicles – 4690 (+8) units,
  • artillery systems – 1302 (+7) units,
  • MLRS – 312 (+1) units,
  • air defence systems ‒ 168 (+1) units,
  • fixed-wing planes – 250 (+0) units,
  • helicopters – 216 (+1) units,
  • operational-tactical UAV – 908 (+0),
  • cruise missiles – 233 (+0),
  • ships /boats ‒ 15 (+0) units,
  • vehicles and tank trucks – 3550 (+28) units,
  • special equipment ‒ 121 (+1).

Background: Yuri Ihnat, the spokesman of the Air Force Command said that on 15 September, a hostile UAV was destroyed, and a Ka-52 helicopter belonging to the invaders was downed in Donetsk Oblast in the evening.

On Thursday evening, Serhii Bratchuk, the speaker of Odesa Oblast Military Administration said that Ukraine’s air defence forces had shot down a Kalibr cruise missile over the region.
