Details: The criminal gang included persons who had been convicted of serious and especially serious crimes, including intentional murder.

According to the investigation, on 16 September, members of the gang broke into warehouses in Kharkiv. Calling themselves employees of the Security Service of Ukraine and threatening to use automatic weapons, they beat up a man and took his money, jewellery, and documents.

However, they did not manage to get far. Prosecutors note that six culprits have been detained.

As a result of investigative and operational actions, law enforcement officers seized a large arsenal of weapons from the gang members. These include:

  • a man-portable anti-aircraft missile system with an anti-tank guided missile;
  • 4 RPG-7 anti-tank launchers with rocket-propelled grenades for them;
  • 23 AK-47 assault rifles with ammunition;
  • 8 Makarov and Stechkin pistols;
  • 87 F-1, RGD-5, RGO, RGN and RDG-2B hand grenades;
  • anti-tank mine detonator;
  • silencers for AK-47;
  • about 12,000 rounds of small arms ammunition;
  • tactical ammunition with the SBU insignia.

Under the procedural leadership of the Kharkiv Oblast Prosecutor's Office, members of the criminal group were informed of suspicion.

Four of them are suspected of robbery and trespassing, and the other two are suspected of illegal acquisition and possession of weapons and ammunition without a legal permit.

The arrested persons have been taken into custody, and one of them is under house arrest, due to the fact he is 17 years old.
