Russians attack Kyiv Oblast with two waves of Shahed-136 drones: anti-aircraft defence activated

Kyiv Oblast was attacked by kamikaze drones on the morning of 17 October; no destruction was reported.

Quote from Kuleba: "Since 6:30, we’ve had an air-raid signal, and the air defence system was working effectively; we can’t disclose the details yet. But I want to say that we have no destruction in the oblast, nor are there any strikes. The situation is quite calm and stable."

Details: According to Kuleba, there were two waves of kamikaze drone attacks in the morning; no other forms of attack were used on Kyiv Oblast.

The head of the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration noted that the defence in the Oblast has been strengthened; additional means and measures have been created to make residents feel safe, but the war continues and the risks of attacks remain: the Russian forces keep threatening critical infrastructure.

Background: Explosions rang out in Kyiv on the morning of 17 October, as the Russians attacked the city and oblast with kamikaze drones. According to preliminary data, there were four explosions.

The Russians hit a residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv. 

At least one person was killed.
