Sumy Oblast: 300 strikes from Russian territory, 5 killed

The Russians have killed 5 people in Sumy Oblast over the past day. There were almost 300 strikes from the territory of the Russian Federation.

Details: In addition, there were almost 300 strikes from the territory of the Russian Federation over the day of 17 October. 

In particular, there were two mortar attacks on settlements in Krasnopillia hromada [an administrative unit designating, in this case, the town of Krasnopillia  and its adjacent territories - ed.].

Shalyhyne hromada: the Russians attacked settlements three times over the course of the day with mortars, tubed artillery, and volleys of automatic gunfire. 

The occupiers hit the Velyka Pysarivka hromada 11 times over the day.

The Russians used mortars, launched rockets from helicopters, and attacked with Grad multiple-rocket launchers and artillery. As a result of artillery shelling, the electricity line was damaged and a maize field started to burn. 

The invaders used tubed artillery, grenade launchers, and small arms to strike the Seredyna-Buda hromada. One woman was injured in the city of Seredyna-Buda as a result of the artillery shelling.

Six private houses were also damaged and three fires broke out.
