Russians consolidate their positions on the left bank of Kherson Oblast and actively conduct aerial reconnaissance – General Staff

Russian troops continue offensive operations on the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts, and continue to strengthen their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast.

Quote from the General Staff: "The enemy is attempting to maintain control over previously occupied territories and is focusing its efforts on holding back Ukrainian troops on several fronts, while also continuing to make attempts to advance on the Avdiivka and Bakhmut fronts.

The enemy is firing on the positions of our troops along the line of contact, carrying out fortification equipment of positions on several fronts, in particular on the left bank of the Dnipro River, and actively conducting aerial reconnaissance."

Details: Violating international humanitarian law and the laws and customs of war, the Russian Federation continues to strike at critical infrastructure and civilian homes.  During the day, the Russian army carried out three air strikes and three attacks from multiple-launch rocket systems.

The situation on the Volyn and Polissia fronts remains unchanged. The Republic of Belarus is continuing to aid and support Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine by allowing Russian forces to use its territory, airspace and infrastructure. There is still a threat of missile and air strikes, including the use of attack UAVs. There is an ongoing threat of missile and air strikes from the territory of Belarus, including with the use of attack UAVs.

On other fronts, the Russians continued to fire on military and civilian targets:

  • On the Slobozhanshchyna front: Russian forces deployed various types of artillery on the territory of the Russian Federation to fire on areas in and around Chuhunivka, Strilecha, Dvorichna, Kamianka, Krasne and Starytsia;
  • On the Kupiansk front:  Russian forces deployed tank guns, mortars and tubed and rocket artillery to fire on areas in and around Berestove, Kyslivka and Fyholivka;
  • On the Lyman front: the Russians deployed tank guns and artillery of various calibres to fire on areas in the vicinity of Makiivka, Terny, Torske, Yampolivka, Spirne, Nevske and Zarichne;
  • On the Bakhmut front: Russian forces deployed tank guns, mortars and tubed and rocket artillery to fire on areas in and around Andriivka, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Kramatorsk, Soledar and Yakovlivka;
  • On the Avdiivka front: Russian forces fired from mortars and tubed and rocket artillery on areas in the vicinity of Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Novomykhailivka and Pervomaiske;
  • On the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia fronts: Russian forces fired artillery on areas in and around Bilohiria, Vremivka, Zaliznychne, Novopil, Novosilka, Olhivske and Orikhiv;
  • On the Pivdennyi Buh front: 15 cities, towns and villages situated along the line of contact came under Russian fire.

Two ammunition storage points and a pontoon crossing with Russian military equipment have been destroyed in Kherson Oblast in recent days.

Over the past day, the Ukrainian Air Force carried out more than 14 strikes on clusters of manpower, weapons and military equipment used by the Russian occupiers. 

During the day, Ukrainian air defence forces struck down a Russian helicopter and attack jet – according to preliminary information: a Ka-52 and a Su-25 attack jet.

Ukrainian Rocket Forces and Artillery units hit two clusters of manpower, weapons and military equipment used by the Russian occupiers.

This is the 246th day of Ukraine’s opposition to Russia’s full-scale invasion.
