Quote: "As to the conflict in Ukraine, I would say in this case, from our point of view, a special military operation in Ukraine can be completed after achieving its goals.

Or [we could also] complete it by achieving its goals through peace negotiations, which is also possible, but peace negotiations, as we know, are impossible due to the position taken by the Ukrainian side."

Background:

  • Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that the goals of the war against Ukraine have not changed.
  • President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine explained that his government did not agree to negotiations with the leader of Russia because Vladimir Putin's statements about the desire for peace were not sincere.
