By way of background, after the strike on the ships of the Black Sea Fleet in occupied Sevastopol, Russia announced the suspension of its participation in the Grain Initiative. The UN then said that the agreement still remains in force and the organisation's inspectors will continue inspecting ships.

As European Pravda wrote in its article, the grain agreement could work even without the participation of the Russian side if it was the will of Turkish President Erdoğan, and this scenario is already in the process of being realised. Putin started hinting the very next day that the Russian Federation is ready to return to the agreement.
