Video with "shot captives": ombudsman reports about Russia’s war crime

Dmytro Lubinets, Ukrainian Parliament Ombudsman for Human Rights, reported that Russians took advantage of the staged surrender and committed a war crime by launching an attack on the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Quote: "In this case, Russian soldiers cannot be considered prisoners of war but instead are considered those who are engaging in combat and committing treachery.

Launching an attack in response is not a war crime. Yet those who want to use the international protection of human rights for committing a killing must be punished.

The only reason for the death of the Russian troops in the territory of Ukraine is the criminal policy of the Russian Federation which started a groundless genocide war against the Ukrainian people."

Background: Russia made a statement about the "cruelty of Zelenskyy’s regime" and turned to the international organisations in connection with a video published on Telegram-channels. Russia claims that in the video, Ukrainian soldiers are killing Russian prisoners of war.
