Ukraine's Air Force explains how it manages to shoot down Russian Kh-101 missiles

The anti-aircraft missile forces of the Ukrainian Air Force sometimes have to launch two obsolete missiles at a modern Russian cruise missile target.

Quote: "Usually, two anti-aircraft missiles are fired at an aerial target, so that there is a better chance of destroying it. The enemy is launching the latest missiles over Ukraine: the Kh-101 missile was produced a year or two ago... We found fragments of missiles made in 2019-2020 that were shot down by missiles produced in 1970 (S-300 or Buk anti-aircraft missile)."

Details: Ihnat stressed that the final decision is made by commanders on the ground.

He recalled that the Russian Federation carried out a massive attack on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine on 15 November.

In the west of Ukraine alone, at least 15 Russian missiles were shot down, i.e. the Air Defence Forces of Ukraine could have theoretically launched 30 missiles.

The spokesman for the Air Force has noted that it was a powerful attack by the Russian Federation and a huge anti-aircraft battle.

Neighbouring Poland has also suffered from this attack. Nevertheless, the responsibility for these events lies entirely with Russia, which is waging a full-scale war against Ukraine.
