Belarus prolongs term of army’s combat readiness check

Belarus has prolonged the term of the combat readiness check of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus check till 12 December.

Quote from the General Staff: "In order to keep the troops ready for use, the term of combat readiness check of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus has been prolonged till 12 December."

Details: Nevertheless, the General Staff has not detected significant changes on the Volyn and Polissia fronts: "There are no signs of the enemy forming offensive groups".

Background: Recently, the Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhii Naiev, stated that Ukrainian defenders were preparing for a due response to the accumulation of hostile troops in Belarus

Self-proclaimed Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko accused Ukraine and NATO of committing an increased number of provocations near the Belarusian-Ukrainian border and claimed that Ukraine is trying to get NATO forces involved in the war. 

According to the opinion of analysts from the Institute for the Study of War, Alexander Lukashenko is making statements about a threat from NATO in order to highlight the need for protection and avoid being involved in the war in Ukraine.
