Details: According to the list, the package includes additional ammunition for HIMARS and NASAMS systems, as well as, just as previously expected, 90 Stryker Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) with 20 mine rollers and 59 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs) with 590 TOW anti-tank missiles and 295,000 rounds of 25mm ammunition.

The US will also transfer 8 Avenger air defence systems, 53 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAPs), 350 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs), 20,000 155mm artillery rounds, approximately 600 precision-guided 155mm artillery rounds, 95,000 105mm artillery rounds, and approximately 11,800 120mm mortar rounds to Ukraine.

In addition, the military aid package includes 12 ammunition support vehicles, 6 command post vehicles, 22 tactical weapon-towing vehicles, High-speed Anti-radiation Missiles (HARMs), approximately 2,000 anti-armour rockets, over 3,000,000 rounds of small arms ammunition, demolition equipment for obstacle clearing, Claymore anti-personnel mines, night-vision equipment, spare parts and other field equipment.

As expected, the package does not include the longer-range missiles known as Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) for which Ukraine has long been asking, nor the Abrams tanks, which the US attributed to logistical and maintenance complications that may arise.

Background: It was the thirtieth security package allocated to Ukraine under the Presidential Drawdown Authority mechanism. The largest military aid packages provided by the USA for Ukraine amounted to more than three billion dollars.

Total US military aid to Kyiv since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022 has therefore exceeded $26.7 billion.
