Russian medics flee from occupied Melitopol

Russian medics are following in the wake of the collaborators and fleeing from the occupied city of Melitopol in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Quote: "The Melitopol city hospital was practically the last hospital in temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Oblast that was still providing medical care to civilians, but it has now been almost a month since the occupiers started bringing wounded and sick soldiers there, and there is less and less space for civilians in the hospital."

Details: Fedorov says medical professionals are leaving Melitopol due to the actions of the Resistance forces and out of fear of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Moreover, there are other factors such as the extremely high number of wounded Russian soldiers, for whom there is neither enough medical staff nor hospital beds, and the behaviour of occupiers who are admitted to hospital in a state of alcoholic or drug-induced intoxication.

Fedorov reports that due to the total lack of medical staff, the occupiers are using both threats and bribes to make Ukrainian medical professionals treat Russian soldiers. The mayor says Ukrainian medics are refusing to collaborate with the Russians despite the terror.

He added that 90% of pharmacies in Melitopol are closed, and those that are open have only an extremely limited range of medicine available at very high prices.
