Russians conduct 3 strikes on Khmelnytskyi: two emergency workers killed

One person has been killed and four more have been wounded in Russian strikes on the city of Khmelnytskyi on the night of 26-27 February.

Quote from Hamalii: "At night, the Ruscists [Russian soldiers]  attacked Khmelnytskyi Oblast once more. They delivered three strikes on the city of Khmelnytskyi. Preliminary reports indicate that one person has been killed and four have been wounded."    

Details: The Head of Oblast Military Administration noted that civilian homes sustained damage. As of 7:30, fire-fighting operations are ongoing. 

Khmelnytskyi mayor Oleksandr Symchyshyn has reported that the deceased was an emergency worker from the State Emergency Service. He died in the line of duty.

Updated: Later, Hamalii reported that three injured people were taken to the hospital in a serious condition; however, their lives are not in danger now. One injured woman was discharged from the hospital. 

Updated at 10:48: Hamalii reported that doctors could not save the life of another heroic emergency worker. Thus, two emergency workers had been killed in Khmelnytskyi as a result of a night attack by Russians.

Background:

  • Air-raid warnings were issued in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, as well as in a number of other oblasts, on the evening of Sunday, 26 February.
