Kuleba calls on ICC prosecutor to investigate shooting of Ukrainian PoW

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has called on the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to investigate the circumstances of the shooting of a Ukrainian prisoner of war, which became known on Monday.

"Horrific video of an unarmed Ukrainian POW executed by Russian forces merely for saying ‘Glory to Ukraine’. Another proof this war is genocidal," the minister tweeted.

"It is imperative that Karim Khan [Prosecutor of the ICC] launches an immediate ICC investigation into this heinous war crime. The perpetrators must face justice," he added.

Ukrainians were outraged on Monday by a video recording of Russian soldiers shooting an unarmed Ukrainian prisoner of war after he said "Glory to Ukraine". This case has provoked a public outcry.

The Security Service of Ukraine has opened criminal proceedings regarding the video, in which Russian invaders shoot the Ukrainian soldier right after he says, "Glory to Ukraine!"
