Türkiye supports NATO expansion, and believes it is the key to lasting world peace and stability.

Details: According to Altun, Türkiye supports NATO's geographical expansion, stating the reasons as not being "against any particular country", but in favour of the alliance becoming a comprehensive security organisation that will contribute to stability.

Quote: "We are pleased that our legitimate concerns about Sweden’s policies on counterterrorism have been accepted by our allies."

More details: Erdoğan’s representative has added that the Vilnius summit showed that "Türkiye will continue to be a strong partner and propel the alliance forward in addressing common security challenges, in line with our national security requirements". 

Background: Earlier, Erdoğan said that Ukraine could count on a simplified process of joining NATO in the future. The Turkish president also supported Ukraine's membership in the North Atlantic Alliance.
