Russian attack on night of 18 July: air defence destroyed 38 Russian aerial targets

On the night of 18 July 2023, Russia attacked from the southern front with six Kalibr cruise missiles and 36 Shahed attack drones; all missiles and 31 Iranian UAVs were destroyed by air defence.

Details: It is noted that the Kalibr launches were allegedly launched from the Russian frigate Admiral Essen, and the Shaheds were launched from the area of the Chauda training ground in temporarily occupied Crimea.

The military assets and personnel of the Air Force destroyed six Kalibrs, 31 Shahed-136/131 attack drones and one reconnaissance UAV.

Kalibr cruise missiles and most kamikaze drones were destroyed in the south, in Odesa and Mykolaiv oblasts. At the same time, the rest of the attack UAVs were destroyed in Donetsk, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts.

At the same time, over the past day, on 17 July, the air defence destroyed three Shahed attack UAVs, one Lancet and nine operational-tactical reconnaissance drones.

During the current and previous days, the Air Forces carried out up to 15 group aerial attacks on the Russians.
