Day of mourning announced in Kherson Oblast: 7 killed, 13 injured in one day

As a result of attacks on Kherson Oblast on Sunday, 7 people were killed and 13 injured; Monday was declared a day of mourning in the oblast.

Quote from Klymenko: "As of 17:00, 20 people have been injured as a result of Russia's military aggression in Kherson Oblast today: 7 killed (5 in Shyroka Balka, 2 in Stanislav), 13 wounded (3 in Kherson and Beryslav, 2 in Stanislav and Komyshany, 1 in Veletenske, Zolota Balka and Novokairy)."

Details: Prokudin added that Monday was declared a day of mourning in Kherson Oblast.

"Sofia was only 23 days old, her brother Artem was 12 years old. Today, they were killed by Russia along with their father and mother. Also in Shyroka Balka, terrorists ended the life of a 67-year-old local resident. In Stanislav, Christian pastor Mykola Tachyshvili and his fellow villager were killed by an enemy strike," said Klymenko.

 

Background: On the morning of 13 August, Russian occupiers fired on Kherson Oblast, killing five adults, a 12-year-old boy and a 23-day-old baby.

Later, the occupiers attacked Kherson Oblast again – this time they dropped explosives from a UAV and launched attacks on the Oblast centre – three civilians were injured.

A 61-year-old man was wounded as a result of an attack in the village of Novokairy in Kherson Oblast.
