Russians attack Sumy Oblast, 120 explosions in one day

Russian forces carried out 31 attacks on settlements in Sumy Oblast on 23 August, with 120 explosions recorded.

Details: Russian forces attacked Znob-Novhorodske, Nova Sloboda, Velyka Pysarivka, Romny, Svesa, Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Khotin, Seredyna-Buda and Putyvl hromadas. (A hromada is an administrative unit designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories – ed.)

Russian forces hit Znob-Novhorodske hromada with mortars (8 explosions).

Russian forces deployed mortars (1 explosion) to attack Nova Sloboda hromada.

The Russians fired artillery (5 explosions) and mortars (5 explosions) on Velyka Pysarivka hromada.

A Shahed drone hit a school in the city of Romny in the hromada of the same name. The school was completely destroyed, four civilians were killed and four were wounded.

Mortar attacks (8 explosions) were recorded in Svesa hromada.

Fire from mortars (26 explosions) and artillery (2 explosions) were recorded in Krasnopillia hromada.

Russian forces fired from mortars (12 explosions), and they also used a multiple-launch rocket system (8 explosions) to attack Bilopillia hromada.

In Khotin hromada, Russian forces dropped VOG from a copter-type UAV (1 explosion) and conducted a mortar attack (7 explosions).

Russian forces hit Seredyna-Buda hromada with artillery (10 explosions), mortars (7 explosions) and AGS grenade launchers (8 explosions).

Russian forces dropped three bombs on Putyvl hromada.
