Ukrainian Air Force destroys 13 Shahed UAVs launched by Russia overnight

The Ukrainian Air Force brought down 12 of the 12 Shahed loitering munitions launched by Russia towards Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts overnight, as well as one drone of an unidentified type.

12 Shaheds were launched towards Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts.

Anti-aircraft missile units, fighter aircraft, and mobile fire groups were involved in repelling the attack.

Combat operations by the Air Force, jointly with the air defence of other elements of the Defence Forces, brought down 12 Shahed-136/131s within Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Mykolaiv oblasts, as well as one UAV of an unspecified type."

Details: The Russian forces also employed tactical aircraft in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, firing Kh-31P anti-radar missiles and Kh-59 guided missiles from Su-34/Su-35 aircraft.

Preliminary reports from the Ukrainian Air Force indicate there were no casualties. The information is being confirmed.

At the same time, Yurii Ihnat, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, reported that drones had also been shot down in Sumy Oblast in the morning. He also said that most of the projectiles did not reach their targets.

Quote from Ihnat: "So far, about 12 attack UAVs have been destroyed. There is more information on Sumy Oblast, so this figure will be higher: about 13-14 drones. 

In addition, the enemy attacked today with anti-radar missiles. These are missiles launched from Su-24 and Su-35 tactical aircraft, as well as Kh-59 air-launched guided missiles. Most of them did not reach their targets."

Update: Operational Command Pivden (South) reported the downing of a Forpost drone launched in the direction of Zmiinyi (Snake) Island for reconnaissance and sabotage activities. It was destroyed over the sea.
