Russians fail to regain positions near Klishchiivka or drive out Ukrainian defenders near Marinka – General Staff report

Russian military forces  over the past day have unsuccessfully tried to regain their lost position near Klishchiivka and drive Ukrainian units out of their positions near Marinka in Donetsk Oblast, while fighting also continued near Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Details: The General Staff reported that more than 32 combat engagements had taken place over the past day. The Russian invaders launched 1 missile strike and 56 air strikes, and fired 85 times from multiple-launch rocket systems on the positions of Ukrainian troops and on civilian targets.

Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Private homes and other civilian infrastructure facilities were destroyed and damaged.

Air strikes were carried out in: Stepne (Sumy Oblast); Cherneshchyna (Kharkiv Oblast); Novoyehorivka and Nevske (Luhansk Oblast); Spirne, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, New York, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva, Urozhayne, Staromayorske and Zelene Pole (Donetsk Oblast); Verbove, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne and Novodanylivka (Zaporizhzhya Oblast); Beryslav, Odradokamianka, Mykolaivka, Burhunka, Olhivka (Kherson Oblast) and the city of Kherson.

More than 70 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts came under artillery fire.

The situation is as follows on each front:

  • In the area of responsibility of the Pivnich (North) Operational Strategic Group on the Volyn and Polissia fronts, the operational situation remains without significant changes.
  • On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, the occupants maintain military presence in the border areas, conduct active subversive activities to prevent the deployment of our troops to threatened areas, and increase the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod Oblast [Russia].
  • In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia Operational Strategic Group on the Kupiansk and Lyman fronts, the Russian did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions. 
  • On the Bakhmut front, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled attacks in the areas east of Bohdanivka and southeast of Bila Hora in Donetsk Oblast. The Russians tried to regain lost ground in the area of Klishchiivka, Donetsk Oblast, but failed.
  • In the area of responsibility of the Tavriia Operational Strategic Group on the Avdiivka front, the Ukrainian Defence Forces successfully held the line and repelled enemy attacks near Avdiivka, Donetsk Oblast.
  • On the Marinka front, the Russian troops conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the vicinity of Marinka in Donetsk Oblast, where they made 14 unsuccessful attempts to force Ukrainian units out of their positions over the past day.
  • At the same time, on the Shakhtarsk front, Ukraine's defenders continue to hold the line and defend Ukrainian land from the invaders.
  • On the Melitopol front, the Defence Forces continue their offensive. Ukrainian defenders have successfully repelled enemy attacks near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, and continue to consolidate their positions.
  • In the area of responsibility of the Odesa Operational Strategic Group on the Kherson front, the defence forces continue to conduct counter-battery combat, destroying warehouses and successfully striking at the Russians’ rear.

Over the past day, Ukrainian aircraft conducted 8 strikes on areas where Russian troops, weapons and military equipment were concentrated.

Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery destroyed 2 anti-aircraft missile systems, 4 artillery pieces and 1 ammunition storage point.
