The Russian FSB recruited them in June 2023. The prosecutor's office reported that the first agent was a resident of the settlement of Kurakhivka, who sent the information to FSB’s representative through her relative, a serviceman of one of the Russian Armed Forces’ army corps.

In voice messages, the woman talked about the deployment of Ukraine’s Armed Forces personnel and equipment in the territory of the settlement and Pokrovsk District. The woman paid special attention to information about the location of businesses and other buildings.

In particular, one such audio recording contained the coordinates of her child's godparents' private house. Later, almost all the locations sent by the suspect were attacked.

Another informant was a native of Tajikistan who bought a new phone to keep the conversations secret. The man sent intelligence data to the FSB employee directly using Telegram. The man sent text messages containing information about the deployment of the Ukrainian military and equipment, which included rocket launchers, artillery and tanks.

The SSU specified that the agents tried to identify the ABRAMS tanks firing positions. The Russians promised their henchmen to transfer money to bank cards for each completed task.

The SSU detained them in their own apartments and seized their mobile phones with tasks received from the FSB and reports for them.

The two defendants were served with a notice of suspicion of treason (Article 111.2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). They have been remanded in custody as a measure of restraint, without the right to be released on bail. They face punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 15 years or life imprisonment, with confiscation of property.
