Zelenskyy on possibility of Trump elected as president: Whoever it is, we hope for US support

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he counts on the support of Ukraine from American society regardless of who wins the US presidential election in 2024.

Details: The head of state refused to directly answer the question of how concerned he was about the possible victory in the US elections of Donald Trump, who repeatedly expressed his anti-Ukrainian position and promised to agree on the end of the war "in 24 hours."

The president is unclear whether Trump’s presidency will be good or bad for Ukraine, but he hopes that whoever becomes the next leader of the US will take into account the attitude of the American society. 

Zelenskyy believes that if American society supports, shares the same values and understands the challenges that Ukraine is facing, as well as the outcome and damage of this war, any US president will be keen on providing support to the country.

Background: The former US president has repeatedly said that he has a "plan" to ensure peace in Ukraine within 24 hours if he becomes president once again. 

Last week, in an interview with NBC, which was broadcast the day before, Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited Trump, who promised he would end the war between Russia and Ukraine in one day if he were re-elected as US president, to come to Ukraine.

But Trump decided not to accept the invitation of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, citing "conflict of interest".
