Budanov stated that several such missiles were supplied to Russia by North Korea. "However, this is also not true when it comes to large-scale applications," Budanov concluded.

Reuters reported, citing its sources, that Iran has already sent several batches of its surface-to-surface ballistic missiles to Russia since the beginning of 2024 under agreements to deepen cooperation between the two countries.

Iran's Permanent Mission to the United Nations denied media reports that it has supplied Russia with ballistic missiles that could be used to wage a full-scale war against Ukraine.

The United States has not officially confirmed this information, but it did announce additional sanctions against Iran for supporting the Russian aggression.
