A shooting incident occurred at a concert by the band Piknik at the Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Oblast, on the evening of 22 March. Early reports indicate that at least 60 people are dead and 140 injured.

Update: A correspondent of RIA Novosti who was at the scene revealed that at least three people in camouflage broke into the stalls of the Crocus City Hall and started shooting from automatic weapons. It is certain that people were injured.

 

After that, the correspondent said, a grenade or incendiary device was thrown, which started a fire.

He also said the people who were in the auditorium lay down on the floor to protect themselves from the shooting. They lay there for 15-20 minutes before trying to crawl out. Many of them managed to get out.

Updated at 20:00: Those who did not manage to evacuate are now trapped by the fire. There may be up to 100 of them. The roof is collapsing.

All forces have been mobilised to detain the terrorists responsible for the attack. Moscow Oblast Governor Vorobyov also went to the site of the attack and an operational headquarters has been set up.

Updated at 20:30: Baza is reporting that firefighters are not allowed to approach the complex. They cannot start putting the fire out because the perpetrators may still be inside. Early reports say the terrorists barricaded themselves inside the building.

The exact number of people who opened fire is unknown. Some eyewitnesses have reported seeing "five bearded men with assault rifles". Some of them wore backpacks. 

Updated at 20.45: The Russian Telegram channel 112 is reporting that 40 people are dead and 130 injured.

There are reports that four perpetrators were able to get away from the scene of the crime.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has cancelled all sporting, cultural and other large-scale events scheduled for this weekend.
