He thanked Türkiye "for its reliable support for Ukraine" and noted that one of the topics of discussion is creating opportunities for "unconditional security" of navigation in the Black Sea, since it is important for all countries in the region, as well as for global food security.

Quote: "We can accomplish this by working together," Zelenskyy noted.

He also expressed Ukraine's interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation and partnership with Turkish defence companies.

"We also require Türkiye’s assistance in releasing our prisoners of war and all of our people, including Crimean Tatars, held captive by Russia," the president of Ukraine stressed.

Background: The meeting between the leaders of Ukraine and Türkiye is taking place in Istanbul; Türkiye announced the visit in advance.

Recently, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan advocated for holding negotiations on a ceasefire in Ukraine soon.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that Ankara continues to support a peaceful settlement of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and is ready to offer a platform for relevant "negotiations".
