Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha believes that the simultaneous accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the European Union is a national interest.

- On 20 October 2024, Moldova held a constitutional referendum on European integration. According to the Central Election Commission, the turnout was 50.72%.
- A total of 1,531,392 voters took part in the vote. Out of a total of 1,488,874 valid votes cast, 749,719 voted in favour of including European integration in the constitution, and 739,155 voted against.
