Russia wants to restore relations with US: Putin's envoy sees "constructive dialogue" between countries

Quote: "One of the main topics is the resumption of Russian-American relations and dialogue, which was interrupted under the Biden administration. Many countries are trying to disrupt the dialogue [between the US and Russia – ed.]. Russia wants to emphasise that the Trump administration is committed to restoring relations."
Details: Dmitriev told Russian journalists after a meeting with Donald Trump's Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff that the Americans "hear Russia's position" and are ready for constructive solutions.
Putin's envoy said that during his talks with his American counterparts, mutual investment was a major topic.
Dmitriev noted that the Russians already "see a great desire of American companies" to return to the Russian market, but businesses would be allowed to enter only where "it would be beneficial for Russia and where the authorities approved it".
Dmitriev emphasised the fact that Russia was not affected by the new duties imposed by Trump on other countries.
The Russian envoy said that talks with the US were supposedly underway to resume air travel between the countries and active discussions were underway about joint activities in the Arctic, as well as the restoration of religious and cultural relations between the countries.
"The process of dialogue is positive and constructive," the Kremlin envoy concluded.
