Zelenskyy: Ukraine ready to provide drones to US if it receives American missiles

Ukraine is ready to sell the United States domestically produced drones. Taking into account bilateral partnership programmes, the country is also ready to provide them if it receives American missiles.

Quote: "Of course, the US has a serious industry; they can build them [drones – ed.] themselves. But they need battlefield practice. The US has a large industry, but the industry itself says: we don't have your experience today, and, of course, your drones are the best now. That's why I said we are ready to both sell and, within our partnership, if we can have your missiles, we are ready to provide them."
Details: The head of state noted that Ukraine is ready for its companies to produce UAVs in the US. He added that there are always two related aspects – the Mega Deal, concerning the purchase of American weapons, and the Drone Deal, concerning the purchase of Ukrainian drones.
Quote: "The Mega Deal includes various missiles and corresponding air defence systems. And the Drone Deal includes all the other drones that we need today, those that we cannot sell, and those that we can export."
Background:
- In summer 2025, the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative was launched, created jointly by NATO and the US and aimed at the rapid supply of American weapons to Ukraine.
- At the end of September, Zelenskyy stated that several packages of American weapons for Ukraine had already been financed under the PURL initiative. The first two packages of assistance under the programme include missiles for Patriot air defence systems and HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems.
