Geneva hosts next round of Ukraine-US-Russia talks, Kremlin spokesman says

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said the next round of trilateral talks on ending Russia's war against Ukraine will take place in Switzerland on 17-18 February.

Details: Peskov said the talks will be held in Geneva. He also said that Putin's aide Vladimir Medinsky will lead the Russian delegation.
Background:
- On 11 February, Zelenskyy said the next round of talks with Russia is scheduled for 17 or 18 February in the United States, although Russia has not yet agreed.
- Meanwhile, Peskov had said that the next round of talks between Ukraine and Russia was expected to take place soon, without providing further details.
- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Ukrainian side is ready for a new meeting with the Russian delegation to work towards ending the war in Ukraine.
- According to a communiqué on the outcome of the trilateral talks held in Abu Dhabi on 4-5 February, the US, Ukrainian and Russian delegations discussed methods for implementing a ceasefire and monitoring the cessation of hostilities.
- Following the Abu Dhabi talks, the US and Russia have agreed to resume high-level military dialogue.
