Details: The EU expects to disburse the first funds from the €90 billion loan at the end of May or early June 2026 at the latest.
Dombrovskis said there are currently no delays in the technical preparations for the loan and there are unlikely to be any, and the first disbursement can be planned for late May to early June.
He also noted that negotiations are ongoing on the text of a Memorandum of Understanding with Ukraine and that a list of the reforms Kyiv must implement to receive the funds is being drawn up.
According to the commissioner, Ukraine has sufficient financial resources to wait until the EU funding arrives in June.
He said the good news is that the EU and other international partners have managed to mobilise funding for Ukraine, adding that the Ukrainian authorities have confirmed that they can wait until the EU funding arrives.
