Power line and homes damaged in Russian attack on Kharkiv

An electricity transmission line has been damaged as a result of a Russian attack on the Nemyshlianskyi district in the city of Kharkiv. Repairs are being carried out by energy workers from Kharkivoblenergo, the state-owned energy supply company in Kharkiv Oblast.

Details: Twenty-nine homes were also damaged in the attack. Windows were shattered, and roofs and fences were destroyed, the city council said.

Efforts to deal with the aftermath of the attack have been launched quickly at the site. Municipal services are involved in the recovery work, along with charitable organisations – the Proliska humanitarian mission and the I Am Saved charity foundation – which are assisting the residents.

The city council reported that inspections of damaged properties are ongoing, with relevant services working to repair housing as quickly as possible.

Background:

  • Russian forces conducted a combined strike using 666 missiles and drones on the night of 24-25 April. Ukraine's air defences have destroyed or jammed 610 UAVs.
  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that a total of four people were killed and more than 30 were injured across Ukraine as a result of the Russian attack overnight.
