Russia launches three missiles and 108 drones, Ukrainian air defence intercepts 89 UAVs

Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, one Kh-31 guided air-launched missile and 108 drones of various types since the evening of 5 May. Ukrainian air defences have downed 89 UAVs, but hits have been recorded.

Quote: "As of 08:00, [Ukrainian] air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 89 drones in the country's north and east. Hits by two ballistic missiles, one guided air-launched missile and nine UAVs had been recorded at eight locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at one location."
Details: Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.
As of 08:00 on 6 May, the attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
Background:
- On 4 May, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the introduction of a ceasefire set to begin at 00:00 on 6 May.
- Russian forces violated the ceasefire within the first few minutes after it came into force.
