Details: The incident occurred on 13 May. The FAB-500 aerial bomb did not detonate, but damaged around 25 m of railway track.
Vyacheslav Gladkov, Governor of Belgorod Oblast, said an electric-powered train travelling on the Razumnoye-Tomarovka route derailed because around two metres of track were missing. There were 15 people on the train at the time of the accident. One woman was injured and taken to hospital.
Gladkov initially wrote that the train may have derailed because the railway track had been blown up, but later removed that version from his post.
Bomb disposal experts from the Russian Defence Ministry were sent to the scene. They removed and defused the FAB-500, which will be taken to a training ground for disposal.

Astra reported that Russian forces have dropped at least 24 aerial bombs on Russian and occupied Ukrainian oblasts since the start of 2026. Similar incidents have been recorded before. In November 2024, a Russian aircraft dropped a bomb on a school in the village of Bykovka in the Yakovlevsky urban district, Belgorod Oblast. The munition pierced the school roof and remained in a classroom on the second floor.
