Russian strike on Konotop injures eight, damages residential buildings – photos, video

Eight people have been injured as a result of a Russian strike on the residential sector of the city of Konotop in Sumy Oblast on the night of 19-20 May.

Quote from SES: "In a multi-storey residential building, the strike destroyed floor slabs from the first to the third floor. Three people were rescued... Eight people are currently reported to have been injured."

Details: The State Emergency Service added that residential buildings and a regional history museum building came under Russian attacks, with fires breaking out.

"Rescue workers operated at five different locations... Due to the threat of repeated attacks, operations were temporarily suspended. All fires have been extinguished," SES concluded.
The prosecutor's office added that the Russians struck Konotop from 01:20 to 04:30. Early information indicates Russian forces used 12 UAVs in their attack on the city.
"As of the morning, damage to 2 houses, 3 apartment blocks, 5 administrative buildings and a number of vehicles has been recorded," the prosecutor's office stated.
Background: During the night, Konotop Mayor Artem Semenikhyn reported that the Russians had struck an apartment building in the city and that people may be trapped under rubble.
