Russia attacks Ukraine with 262 drones, air defence downs 246 of them

Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with 262 drones of various types since the evening of 24 May. Ukraine's air defence units have destroyed or jammed 246 UAVs, while 10 have hit their targets.

Quote: "As of 08:00, [Ukrainian] air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 246 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones in the country's north, south and east. Hits by 10 UAVs have been recorded at nine locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at seven locations."

Details: The drones were launched from the Russian cities of Oryol, Kursk, Shatalovo, Bryansk, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia as well as from Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

As of the morning of 25 May, the attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
