Russian attack on Kyiv: major fires at Kyiv monastery and Mystetskyi Arsenal extinguished – photos, video

As of 10:35, State Emergency Service personnel have extinguished large-scale fires on the territory of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra and the Mystetskyi Arsenal, caused by Russian strikes overnight on 14-15 June.

Quote from Petrov: "It has not yet been extinguished. As of now [08:15], the response to the aftermath of the Russian attack at both the Lavra and the Mystetskyi Arsenal is still ongoing."
Update: Klymenko reported after 09:00 that the fire at the Lavra had been extinguished.
"The State Emergency Service of Ukraine extinguished the fire on the roof of the church at 08:35," he said.
Petrov reported that the fire at the Mystetskyi Arsenal was extinguished at 10:35.

Details: Klymenko added that the Russians had struck the Mystetskyi Arsenal National Art and Culture Museum Complex while firefighters were still dealing with the fire at the Lavra.

At the sacred site, the fire covered 800 square metres on the roof of the Dormition Cathedral.

At the museum complex, the fire spread over an area of 1,000 sq m.
Petrov said firefighting at the Mystetskyi Arsenal was still ongoing as of 09:30.
Background:
- A fire broke out on the grounds of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra monastery complex following a large-scale Russian attack on the city of Kyiv. Kyiv City Military Administration reported a precise strike on the Lavra and significant damage.
- Metropolitan Epiphanius, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), published a post on social media describing the Russian strike on the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra as "yet another crime against humanity".
- Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that Ukraine is launching procedures through UNESCO and other international mechanisms, calling for "immediate and adequate responses" to a Russian strike that caused significant damage to buildings at the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.
