Zelenskyy announces new communication with Trump's envoys

The Ukrainian team is preparing for a new round of talks with US President Donald Trump's representatives.

We are doing everything we can to ensure that war doesn't remain the only option for what comes next. Importantly, America shares many of our views on the situation both on the front and with the strikes. We should be active, and that is exactly how we are working – actively, with no days off."

• On 25 August, it was reported that CIA Director John Ratcliffe was on a visit to Moscow.
• Commenting on the trip, Trump said he believed that "something may come out of it".
