According to US government sources, the next round of talks between US, Ukrainian and Russian delegations could take place in Abu Dhabi or Switzerland.

Details: A US official said the meeting could take place "in a couple of weeks" in Abu Dhabi or Switzerland.

The US official said the aim was ultimately to pave the way for a high-level meeting. However, much work remains to be done before that can happen.
Background:
- On 23 October, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he had spoken with US President Donald Trump's special envoys and that a trilateral meeting at negotiating team level on ending Russia's war against Ukraine was planned for the first half of November.
- The White House said the same day that US First Lady Melania Trump had helped secure a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine in the city of Oleshky, which is occupied by Russian forces and is currently facing a humanitarian catastrophe.
