Most of the files are from the Roskomnadzor database of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia.

For reference: Anonymous is an international team of hackers and cyber experts who, for political reasons, have waged a cyber war on governments, political structures, and elites.

Previously: After Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, Anonymous declared cyber warfare against Russian government officials, politicians, and government propagandists.

The group hacked the website of Russia’s Ministry Defence and published personal data of agency employees. On 7 March, the hackers broke into every Russian state television channel and posted videos and photos of Russian occupation forces shelling residential neighbourhoods and civilians in Ukraine.

Russia has blocked all Internet publications and websites that cover the true extent of the losses of Russian forces, or sites that report on Russian war crimes against the Ukrainian civilian population. The Criminal Code has been amended to imprison anyone who disseminates information that contradicts the official position of the military leadership of Russia.

In Russia, Roskomnadzor has blocked access to the opposition newspaper Echo of Moscow and the TV channel Dozhd, which each covered casualties among the Russian military as a result of hostilities in Ukraine, and shelling of civilians by Russian occupation forces. Both media outlets have completely ceased their activities.
