Regions update: Sumy, Chernihiv, Mykolayiv and Kropivnytsi airport shelled, Volnovakha seized

The night was tense in the Kyiv region, in Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv; the occupiers also bombed the airport in Kropivnytskyi, Volnovakha is under the control of Russian troops and Mariupol is under siege.

Details: Kyiv region. The situation is tense in the Buchansky and Brovarsky districts. There is fighting in Irpin, near Hostomel. Nemeshayevo, Borodyanka have seen movement of equipment. There has been shelling of settlements in Brovary district. There is shelling in Vyshgorod district. Slavutich remains without light. In Fastov district the oil depot in the village of Kryachki has been hit. 

Chernihiv region. Evening and night, shelling of Chernihiv by Smerch multiple rocket launchers, air raids. The shelling is indiscriminate, both in the city centre and residential areas.

Work continues to restore the water supply (none throughout the city), electricity (part of the city has been without power for 2 days).

Defensive fighting on the outskirts of Chernihiv, in the south, towards Kyiv.

Sumy region. There was an air raid on Sumy around 5am, with several strikes. Information on damage and casualties is being clarified.

Also, overnight information came out about the coordination of green corridors from Sumy, Lebedin, Krasnopolye, Trostyanets, Velyka Pisarevka, Konotop. All of these lead to Poltava.

Kirovograd region. There has been an air raid since 5am. There were several explosions. According to preliminary information, the airport in Kropivnitskiy and Kanatovoye were bombed.

Kharkiv. There were several air-raid alarms overnight. Fighting continues in some areas across the region; the previous day, the AFU destroyed a convoy carrying Russian equipment in the Chuguevsky district.

Dnipropetrovsk region. The Dnipropetrovsk region has been on alert for several hours. The air defence system was in operation. 

Zaporizhzhya region. There were sirens all night, but no explosions.

On Friday, 880 evacuated residents of Enerhodar, Dniprodnoye and Vasilievka were welcomed to Zaporizhzhya. A humanitarian convoy for Mariupol once again failed to reach its destination.

Luhansk region. Shelling of Severodonetsk and Rubizhne since 11 March. A lot of fires broke out following the shelling.

Around 100,000 subscribers across the region without electricity. Restoration work continues around the clock. The State Emergencies Service is providing a technical water supply to Popasna and Lysychansk.

Donetsk region. The night passed quietly in Kramatorsk. All along the front line, firing continues at varying levels of intensity.

Volnovakha is under Russian troop control.

Mariupol is under siege. The humanitarian convoy did not leave Zaporizhzhya

Mykolaiv region. Mykolaiv was shelled all night with Grads and Smerch multiple rocket launchers. Explosions were also heard in the morning. The shelling was indiscriminate. Residential areas, private areas with no military or important infrastructure facilities were hit. The extent of the damage is being ascertained.

Work continues on supplying light and heat.

Kherson. In Kherson, the night was relatively quiet, but explosions can be heard near the airport.

Odesa, Volyn, Rivne, Vinnytsia region, Zakarpattya, Lviv region, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky region, Chernivtsi, Poltava region - generally calm, although there were air raids.

Zhytomyr region. There were three air-raid alarms during the night. There is no preliminary information on damage or casualties.
