562 Russian soldiers held in the custody of Ukraine – says  Vereschuk, but expects for more

Iryna Vereschuk, Deputy Prime Minister and the Head of the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, said that the official count of Russian soldiers held in the custody of Ukraine is 562.

According to Vereschuk: "Right now we officially have 562 Russian prisoners under our custody.

All Russian prisoners are treated in accordance with international human rights law."

Upd. In a comment to Ukrayinska Pravda, Vereshchuk clarified that the center of prisoners started working only on March 18, and they have been given such figures for some time.

According to her, President Volodymyr Zelensky's data on a thousand prisoners is more accurate.

Background: Ukraine has created special camps for Russian prisoners of war which are now open.
