General Staff Summary: Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding back the aggressors in eastern Ukraine

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are preventing the advance of the aggressors and repulsing their attacks on the eastern, southeastern and northeastern fronts.

Verbatim: "The enemy is weakened, disoriented, many of them [Russian troops -ed.] are cut off from logistics and the main forces."

"The command of the occupying forces is trying to compensate for the decline in the combat potential of their units by the use of indiscriminate artillery fire and rocket-bomb attacks, thus destroying the infrastructure of Ukrainian cities."

Details: The Defence Forces Group continues defence operation on the eastern, southeastern and northeastern fronts, focusing on:

• preventing aggressors’ advance towards the settlements of Slovyansk and Barvinkove;
• lirberating and holding the defence of the settlements Kamyanka and Topol’ske;
• creating conditions for improving the tactical situation around Chuhuiv ​;
• repulsing aggressors’ attacks in the vicinity of the settlements of Rubizhne, Lysychansk, Popasna, preventing the main forces of the group from travelling round them.

At the same time, Defence Forces continue to maintain the circular defence of Mariupol city and to defend and deter the aggressors’ advance in the Chernihiv region.

Part of the forces continue to conduct a defence operation in other areas and carry out stabilisation operations. Territorial Defence continues to carry out its objectives and counterattacks in certain areas.
